LES ROBERTS - CHAIR - BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Les Roberts has worked closely with the Harrow Club for 15 years, became a trustee in 2010 and was appointed Chair of the Trustee Board in July 2016. He was Chief Executive of Endeavour Training for 13 years retiring in 2015.He was previously a Council Member of Energywatch, Chief Executive of ACRE, Connexions South Yorkshire and Principal Assistant, Community Services, Newcastle upon Tyne City Council. Originally from Oldham. Les claims to be a "naturalized Geordie" and now lives on the coast in north Northumberland with his wife Gilly. His four children and two grandchildren all live nearby.
Philippe is a partner at law firm, Slaughter and May and has worked at the firm since 1980. He is also President of the European Competition Lawyers Forum. Philippe is listed as a leading individual in the 'Competition Law' section of Chambers UK, 2017 (Band 1) and for 'EU and competition' in The Legal 500 UK, 2016. He was appointed a trustee in 2016 and has spearheaded the Boxing Debate Programme at the Club.
Cassandra was raised in West London herself and is the mother of three children, the eldest of which has attended the Junior Harrow club for the past three years.
She has a background in early years, is an active member at her children’s school, being on the PSA, and currently supports the club by volunteering her time to assist with a variety of activities including the summer carnival project which has been running for two years. She was appointed as a trustee in 2018.
Cassandra is an invested parent, who is passionate about the community, and understands how valuable and important the Harrow Club is for local youths.
Tim completed a BSc in Mathematics at the University of Birmingham before working for the charity Livability. He moved into finance, working for Douglas, Deakin and Young in London before completing a PGCE at the Institute of Education. In 2003 he joined Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet to teach Mathematics before moving to Harrow School in 2007 where he became Head of Statistics. In 2014 Tim left Harrow to become Assistant Head Teacher (Head of Sixth Form) at Twyford Church of England High School in Acton. He returned to Harrow in 2016 and is the Director of Shaftesbury Enterprise. Shaftesbury Enterprise encompasses all of Harrow’s philanthropic, charitable, outreach and partnership work. Tim joined Harrow School’s Senior Management Team in 2018. Tim lives in Harrow with his wife, Casey, and three young daughters. He enjoys riding his bike and watching his beloved Harrow Borough playing football.
Mark is CEO at Sanctum Software Ltd a specialist provider of auto-enrolment (AE) compliance services that supports employers and their advisers. Prior to this he ran EML, a pensions auto-enrolment strategy and systems consultancy and prior to this he held senior positions with Xafinity, Hays and ADP. He was appointed a trustee in January 2011. When he is not in Cornwall messing around with boats, Mark lives in Harrow with his wife Caroline, their two grown up children and a cat!
Leanda qualified as a lawyer with Ashurst and has experience in M&A, media, real estate and tax law. In 2007 she set up a delicatessen and catering business which she sold in 2017 and then joined a start-up FX business coordinating legal and office requirements. Leanda has an MSc in Biological Sciences from Oxford University.
She was appointed as a trustee in 2018. Prior to that she worked as a volunteer with the Rugby Portobello Trust as a classroom assistant where she learned of the importance of youth services to the community. Leanda has lived in west London since 1981 with her husband and 4 children.
KEVIN GILBERT - TREASURER
Kevin Gilbert has been a trustee of the Harrow Club for some 12 years. He is a Chartered Accountant, who until he retired, was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was a governor of both Harrow School and The John Lyon school for 15 years until August 2017 although remains as a director of a subsidiary entity which oversees the activities of Harrow School’s branded international schools in the Far East and chairman of the schools’ pension scheme. Kevin lives in Fulham with his wife Ann. His two sons live nearby.
Christopher is CEO of The Mix, a charity providing innovative, multi-channel advice and crisis support service for under 25s, Christopher is passionate about digital for social good. He was previously with YouthNet, Turn2Us, Help The Aged and Christian Aid. He is also a trustee of Brook who provide sexual health support for young people. In his spare time, he is a gadget lover & fellow of the RSA.
Tom is Head of Property at Armila Capital who provide real estate investment and corporate finance advisory services to its network of institutional and private clients. A qualified surveyor, he was formerly with London Resort Company Holdings & Hanover Private Office. In addition to his trustee role, he is also a liveryman at The Clothworkers Company. He was educated at Reading University and also at Harrow School and has been a trustee since December 13.
Katie is a London based, New York born Russian who moved to London 20 years ago. She graduated from Georgetown University with an MA in Russian. She was an MD at Goldman Sachs, where she worked for 18 years across a range of businesses, and recently retired to pursue other interests outside of finance. She is a fluent Russian speaker. She sits on the board of trustees of the Harrow Club in Notting Hill, and the Prince George Galitzine Memorial Fund for St Petersburg. She lives in London with her husband Ben and four children.
Micah has worked for a well-known housing association for 16 years. He is passionate about using social value and has used this to provide the Harrow club with support from organisations and for the provision of educational material for the youth at the club. He has also liked to use social value and has worked in partnership with Haringey homes through summer 2018 to re-open a youth club in Haringey in 2018. He is also a senior level 2 ABAE – and is England boxing coach for the Cuban Boxing Academy located at the Harrow club. He has dedicated 8 years to working with today’s youth to help them walk the right path and make the right decisions.
